We know that visiting a new church can be a little overwhelming when you don’t know what to expect.
We’ve provided answers to some of the most common questions below, but feel free to reach out if there is something we can do to make your visit easier.
Our Location
First Baptist Church is located at 20831 Powell Road in Dunnellon, Florida. We have plenty of parking available! We have reserved spots near the main front entrance for the disabled, as well as for visitors and senior citizens. If the front parking lot is full, you may use either the side parking to the right of the church, or park in one of the lots behind the church.
What is the worship service like?
We believe in cultivating a worship experience that is welcoming and engaging for all generations! For this reason, both our 8:00am & 11:00am services are identical. The music is led by our worship band and vocalists, consisting of a blend of both contemporary worship songs and traditional hymns. We encourage people of all ages to attend either service. Our 11:00am service is great for families, as this is when our children’s programs take place (more on that below).
Your kids are going to love it here!
We offer a variety of exciting programs for children on Sundays at First Baptist Church! Our nursery is staffed and available during both services, as well as the 9:30am church-wide bible study. Older children will attend Summit Kids Live during the 9:30am Bible study time. During the 11:00am worship service, children attend the beginning of the service as we worship through song and then are dismissed to their classes following the children’s message. Kids in kindergarten through 5th grade attend Summit Sundays. Pre-schoolers attend Wee Worship. Any team member serving with kids on Sunday morning has passed a background check.
What to Expect
First Baptist Church of Dunnellon is a church made up of people just like you! You will not find a perfect church with perfect people but a body of people who have been set free by the blood of Jesus Christ and have been given the greatest mission of sharing the gospel.
Upon arrival, our greeters will give you a church bulletin and assist you in getting to a Bible study class for yourself (and your children), to the nursery, or to the worship service. Don’t be shy to ask if you are not sure about something!
Our service will go for just over 1 hour. We will open up with a quick welcome where we share any church news and announcements. This will be followed by a time of worship through song and a brief children’s message, after which they will be dismissed to their classes. One of our Pastors will share an expository message rooted in Scripture, followed by a time of response and invitation. We finish our service with more singing and the collection of an offering (there is no pressure at all to give during this time, if you are a visitor please feel free to let the plate pass you by). After the service has concluded, our Pastoral team would love to chat to you if you have any questions about the service, something you have heard about Jesus, or if you simply want to find out more.
What should I wear?
