HIGH SCHOOL
The Importance of High School Ministry: Building a Lifelong Faith in Jesus
High school is a time of significant growth and transformation—a season when teens are discovering who they are and where they fit in the world. At FBCD, we believe in walking alongside high school students during this pivotal time, helping them deepen their relationship with Jesus and equipping them to stand firm in their faith.
In Jeremiah 29:11, God says, “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.” High school students are beginning to think about their future, and our role as a church is to help them see God’s hand in their lives and understand the incredible purpose He has for them.
Through dynamic Bible teaching, mentorship, and fellowship, we aim to provide high schoolers with a safe space to explore their faith and wrestle with the tough questions that arise during this stage of life. Whether through youth group gatherings, mission trips, or service projects, students are given opportunities to live out their faith, build meaningful friendships, and discover their God-given gifts and talents.
Equally important, our ministry emphasizes the development of a personal faith that can withstand the challenges of a rapidly changing world. We encourage students to seek God in their daily lives, rely on His Word for guidance, and remain rooted in the truth of His promises. Psalm 119:105 reminds us, “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” By teaching high schoolers to rely on God’s Word, we equip them to navigate life with confidence and clarity.
At FBCD, we understand that high school students are not just preparing for adulthood—they are also making a profound impact on the world today. Their passion, creativity, and energy are a blessing to our church and a powerful force for sharing the gospel. By investing in their spiritual growth, we are helping to shape the next generation of leaders who will carry the light of Christ into their communities and beyond.
Together, let’s nurture a faith that will sustain them for a lifetime and inspire them to be the hands and feet of Jesus in the world.
