AWANA @ First Baptist Church of Dunnellon ...

Awana To clubbers and parents:

We are very excited to have you join us in AWANA this year! As we start out, we want you to know that all of the teachers and volunteers are praying for you and your family.

AWANA is offered to children 2 years old (by March 1, ) through 6th grade. AWANA stands for Approved Workman Are Not Ashamed, which comes from the scripture verse 2 Timothy 2:15. The AWANA Clubs mission is to “reach boys and girls with the gospel of Christ and train them to serve Him.”

AWANA Club is divided into four groups:
Puggles: ages 2 years old (2 by March 1, ) through early 3 year olds
Cubbies: 3 years old (Must be 3 by March 1, ) and 4 year olds
Sparks: Kindergarten (or 5 by September 1, ) through 2nd grade
T&T: 3rd through 6th grade

During AWANA, children will participate in Bible lesson and scripture memorization, recreation and small group time. Each week, children will learn a new scripture verse and then recite the verse to their teachers. As a parent, please help your child learn the scripture verses. In Proverbs 22:6 says, “Train up a child in the way he should go, even when he is old he will not depart from it.”

Each week, children will need to bring their Bible, AWANA book, AWANA vest and their scripture verses memorized and hidden in their hearts.

Safety and precaution:
Each AWANA volunteer has completed a background check and has been approved to work with children.

Opening ceremony will be held in the field at 5:45pm on Wednesday evenings. Parents, please walk your children into the fenced area. Every child must be signed in by a parent during drop off and each child must be signed out prior to picking up a child. This is for the safety of the children in our care.

Registration is September 6, starting at 5:45pm at FBC Dunnellon in the ball field.

We look forward to another awesome year of studying God’s word and many fun events! Thank you for sharing AWANA with us! May our Heavenly Father bless you and your family always.
